i've been thinking about gold-plating the frame on the nine.
for some reason gold just looks awesome with maroon.
oh and the rearsets.
and the bar ends.
and the calipers.
and chain.
and sprocket.
i'll have to change my plates to BLING

So many school of thought but it seems that the public demands a black frame :D ... Now I have been strolling (and drooling) around elizabeth st. to find a good type of black. Apparently it's a rough-ish matt/flat black (stoic?) in fact all new bikes uses this kind of black.

Now... how do I get such black (I believe it's called "powder coating" ?) or should I just buy a can of aerosol and get it done with

I had a close look at the paint on the 10, it's not quite a matt, more of a satin finish and it has a metallic flake in it as well. I think a full matt black probably wouldn't look as good and would be harder to look after.

Why stop at Black, carry the stripes through the frame as well Andy, Now that would look different & stand out from the crowd.
Matt black will always look dirty mate & be garder to clean, I'd go a satin if you choose that otpion.
Cheers Brett
Oh & polish the outer rims as well mate.

Its your choice, looks good either way, but for sure if you DO want to get it blackened up, powder coating for sure. it'll cost a pretty penny and you'll have to totally strip the frame and swingarm down (inc removing bearings i think) to get it done. So do it if you can be without the bike, have the patience and the coin :-)
