Shodans' arrival

Postby Kermit » Wed Jun 01, 2011 7:35 pm

Well "the pushy" is long gone and "shodan" has arrived.

No photo's yet as its dark and is he feeling a little naked without his shinobi shozoku.

However, "shodan" will be appropriately attired and ready to exhibit ninjistu soon.

Yes, one post I went to edit it and hit delete by mistake.

So, I will start again however this is retrospect as shodan is now only sporting a semi street fighter look.

I am very impressed by oggi nobs australia axel and frame sliders, uses its own support brace to secure the nobs via a plate; I presume its designed that way so that if you slide it doesn't bend the frame, the build quality is great, no cut & easy to follow instructions.

My only qualm is kawasaki's workshop manual doesnt give sufficient explanation for removing/installation for cowl, fairings etc for ZX6R, the 250R workshop manual was a lot better; perhaps I need to take into perspective that 250R was a toy and the zx6r is not. Either way I worked it out despite being rather slow I do tend to get anal ie making every bolt follows torque spec!

The headlight, cowl, upper and side fairings are back on the bike; the lower fairings and the windscreen remain off for the next set of modifications.

* Akra slip on with pinebox link pipe (awaiting arrival of link pipe) + servo buddy.
* Standard smoked PUIG screen (awaiting arrival)

Proceeding

* K & N filter
* Heal tech XTRE (awaiting arrival)
* Evotech tidy tail with KSRC surround.

Completed

* Frame and axel nobs

Shodans' arrival

May as well install a radiator guard while its apart. Look up Hoffguard on here or go buy one. Think there is a sponsor in the sponsors page :)

Bit late now as the inner fender and cowl guards are back on, however I could do it at a later stage; the cowl guard wasnt fun putting back on!

On the topic of radiator guards at one stage I was going to buy the evotech one when I ordered the tidy tail, however reading further into it there something mentioned about poor air flow especially during summer causing increased temps.

Anyone had issues with this?

Radguard is the go. Not bad price-wise and a good finish. Both our roadies have one and both turned up fast and fitted perfect first go. :kuda:

yep some rad guards increase your base temp in the summer whilst moving slowly but I would rather that than a rock through the rad.

the fairings will get easier to get on a off once you get more accustomed to them. It is the easiest way to clean a bike once you get it down pat.
