There is one bolt that holds that guard on. Did you find it? Yep it is a bastard, but I think it keeps road crap off the top of the valve cover and guides the passing air through the radiator rather than above it. Bike looks shit hot mate! :D

Cheers mate 8)

Yep got the central bolt off - problem was no matter which way I twisted/turned/pivoted it she refused to come out. Thought I had it sussed by slightly bending it which is when it snapped clean in half

It is a pretty clean snap so I could glue it back together if required, but might try running without it for a bit and see if I notice any difference.

Had me rather confused on what the hell the seemingly useless vertical plate bracket was on the rear of the bike... did a bit of forum searching and figured out it is where the helmet lock usually is. Dunno what happened to the one on my bike but she certainly isn't there anymore! I'll chalk that up as a win for weight saving. :P

Next job is the coolant distribution rail thingos on the front & back of the motor look. They look absolutely terrible at the moment due to corrosion, so will rip em off and clean them up a bit.

Sure did thanks mate, she rocked up yesterday.

Was going to fit it straight away until I realised the standard bug guards aren't the quickest things to remove. Rather than removing the forks I think they've got a date with the dremel cut off disc.

I think I chopped mine off with a heated stanley knife. Went through them like butter and with a real tiny cut.

Couple of boxes of goodies arrived this afternoon 8)

Anyone got any feedback/suggestions on jetting for pod filters with stock headers? Its a dynojet stage 3 kit I've purchased... wondering if the mains included in the kit might be on the large side. Guess I will find out soon enough :P

Couple of progress pics... both the calipers and caliper brackets rocked up this morning and I'm about half way through fitting them so far.

Had to shorten 2 of the supplied bolts by ~5mm each to prevent them bottoming out on the bracket with the nissin calipers, but can't complain about that since it never said bolts were included in the first place. The new calipers came with the standard ZX6 lines but they are too short as you'd expect. The stock ZRX lines will have to make do for the time being. Should make for an interesting comparison since the only thing I am changing is the calipers themselves. I expect the 4 pot nissins to shit all over the tokicos

Fitted the fork brace I picked up off Glen also. Nice tight fit!

And an overall shot.... got the rear end back together so just trying to smash out the smaller jobs now.

The general feedback is there is no real benefit to re jetting while you have stock headers

Tim from Superbike Supply can organise your brake lines. He did mine and Phils for the Ohlins forks. i think the measurements for the radial calipers on stock forks are about the same. 70mm longer than stock from memory.

...and the good news is they'll still fit when you put these bad boys on :)

I have the Nissins with the same adapters, on standard forks like yours and the standard length braided lines fit fine. You will have to get used to the firm feel at the lever and the fact that they never fade, but you will adapt to them with time. ;)

Exellent 8)

And yep - just finished fitting them then with the stock zrx rubber lines for now. If anything the banjo position is a bit higher than on the Tokicos so there is a little more slack than before.

Getting to the pointy end now... just had to come inside and refer to photos as for the life of me I couldn't figure out what connected to the top of the radiatior overflow bottle. 5 minutes searching later and I found said rubber breather hose on the other side of the garage... I really should clean up a bit

Dynojet kit fitted and carbs are back on the bike. 8)
Cleaned out a huge amount of crap from the float bowls while I was at it.

Anyone have any pointers for getting the throttle assembly back together? Have had a couple of attempts now and am getting close to throwing shit around the garage. I didn't get a good chance to look at it when taking it apart, but I presume the push cable slots into the assembly first followed by the pull cable with elbow? I can't see any other way it could go, however it is refusing to go together neatly. Will keep trying...
