I was talking to Conor in the pit area during race week before his big crash in the senior, very nice guy indeed.

This is an update on his condition from Phil Wain from real road racing and also his update on Guy Martin.

Conor Update
I went and saw Conor yesterday for about 20 minutes and, despite his injuries and being in pain, he was in good spirits - as soon as as he saw me he said "bloody hell, fella, you've caught the sun!" We had a good chat and he was already bored of being stuck in hospital and raring to come back as soon as he can.

He will be in hospital for a while though as his injuries include a badly broken left arm, slight shoulder injuries, fractures to bones in his back, hairline fracture to his pelvis, a bruised lung, dislocated left knee and ligament damage. It was the left hand side that that took all the impact as he tumbled down the bank but all his racing gear did a great job in preventing even further damage.

He may have to be moved to Liverpool or Manchester for specialist treatment once is conditions has been fully assessed and settled.

He is extremely grateful for all the well wishes and get well soon messages he's received and thanks all of you that have been in touch.

Guy update
I went to see Guy yesterday but, unfortunately, was unable to get a chat with him as he was being assessed by the doctors at the time but I did have a good chat with his mum, sister and girlfriend and he's doing fine although he realises what a lucky escape he's had.

His mum said that he may have actually punctured his lung and so was having a chest drain fitted yesterday morning to aid with the recovery - Guy, of course, wanted to come out yesterday!! He has damaged a couple of vertabrae in his back but is able to sit up in bed and ensure that copious amounts of tea can be drunk. He also lost some skin off his bum and legs as he slid down the road but this was quite superficial and the leathers did a superb job in preventing this from being worse.

I got a couple of text messages off him this morning and he hopes to be out in 2-3 days - like Conor, he's also grateful to all the kind messages of support and well wishes he's received.
