QATAR Result - don't look if you haven't watched the race

Postby Derek_C » Sat Oct 02, 2004 11:49 pm

What a race - The championship is definitely on again. I really envy you guys going to PI to see what may well be the decider. I wonder if HRC will be hinting that if anyone gets Sete's way, it may effect what type of bike they will be riding next year :?

Whilst Nakano's early exit was disappointing, I think the positive is that the Kawasaki is no longer being blown away at the start and it can run with the top teams. Nakano's form is superb. I hope Eckl signed him up with a 2 year contract :D

And it speaks volumes that Ducati got it's latest podium from the '03 bike.

I was pissed when the Kwaka blew up. That was the best ive seen the Kawasaki going and he would definitely have got another podium had the bike hung in there. He passed Xaus without too much trouble and Xaus ended up on the podium! Now I owe my brother a cap as I bet him that Nakano would beat Biaggi. Bugger.

Im still dreaming of Kawasaki taking their first victory at PI :D

yes, a fantastic reace, apart form the green machine not making ot to the finish. i've gotta say it tlooks alot closer to the mark tho. :)

hoffman is still struggling and hasnt really made an impression considering pitt and gazza were dumped to get him a seat, they really need another rider of the caliber of nakano :)

bad luck about rossi but what can you say about the guy, 21st to 8th in the first lap...what a legend.

he's only gotta leave PI withmore than a 25 point lead to sew up the title there, lets hope he can do it.

i'm really past all the crap that gibernau is starting to go on with, the fan with the dry ice on the grip was just to much..... what is the shit with kissing his fingers etc, has he had them shoved up his arse or summat :?

BTW great effort from colin and xaus rode well, as derek said the 04 bike cant get on a podium but the old 03 bike can, just goes to show you what Troy has got to deal with. when I interviewed him last monday he sounded really, and I mean REALLY despondant.........hope he'll be on a kawasaki or yamaha next year.....

He's paying respect to his ex-team mate, Daijira Kato (spelling?). Hence the reason he touches the "74" (Katos old number) on his leathers before blowing him a kiss (or whatever the fuck he's doing) in heaven.....

How touching

I saw the warm up lap if that counts for anything, then I went to bed after Rossi got up to 9th place by the first corner from the back, sneaky bastard!

I know why he does it, but its Gibernau's sincerity that I question. I doubt he will keep the #74 do all the theatrics if he goes to a different team. The schmuck.

I think he is quite sincere. And let's face it, if Kato didn't have that accident, he wouldn't have got the factory spec bike, so he owes him something. Whatever you think about his "theatrics" you gotta admit it's working for him. And it's making this one of the most interesting seasons ever.

Did anyone else notice the lack of crowds? Except for the main straight there were no stands or fans anywhere else on the circuit. As for the main grandstand on the straight, it only looked about a quarter full. I've seen more people show up to watch a track day at Oran Park. And the marshalls were flown in from Spain.

I guess it shows that money can buy anything.... even your own MotoGP round.

I can't believe the engine blew!!!

Nakano was really sticking up there.. Possibly even had a chance at 2nd, 3rd or 4th realistically.. Damn shame!

Yep Ole Nakkers was on fire (unfortuantely so was the oil in the sump) pity, The Ninja was a Nail even in a straight line he was holding his own :D . I retract my only because of Bridgestone comments from the last race (sorry Nakkers). I think he would of made Edwards work hard for 2nd. Hope they Toss Hoffman (level playing field & he did bugger all). Cant wait for PI.

That was the best start for Nakano ever and I was rapted then happiness
turned to tears !!! [nearly spilt my beer]
It can only get better for Kawasaki I hope.
And yes I agree dump Hoffman and get someone that is in with a chance.

And I'm so over the Gibernau crap too but having said that I am way over the Rossi crap too , ball and chain and going to the toilet etc.

I don't question his sincerity. You don't have a team mate die on the track and then joke around about it. You need to remember that the Spanish are very, very religious people.
