When u changed the coils did you also change the plug Caps, the resistence in them could be a problem.

If you have covered all the spark and fuel issues ,then electrical is next and if you have a standard fuse holder i would start there.Or maybe something really simple like your battery is not getting charge,so start her up turn on the lioghts and see if they get brighter with increased revs.I have had one of these for 30 years and i have always managed to work it out eventually ;)

I know its a pain in the ass but you may have to put the points and condensers back on just to eliminate the dyna ignition, yep process of elimination :D

Check all the connections to your coils too, I chased a problem with my z650 for ages that ended up being a dodgy crimp connector that looked OK on the outside but was actually only holding on by a single strand of wire.

answered on your other thread about the same problem....

a good idea is to only post up 1 thread - then you don't have to go chasing across multiple threads asking the same question getting different answers on each thread . :kuda:

When you lose cylinders for whatever reason the first thing you should check is the compression. Otherwise you end up spending time and money on a non-fix when it's actually the valves or other compression related shit. Cheers.
I know it's tempting but don't check the compression with your tiny little pee pee. It will only cause pain.

You say you cleaned the fuel tank but what about the fuel filter - if its anything like the 03 ZX6 you will have to pull the fuel pump apart. I've just cleaned mine for the second time in 5 weeks, the first time it was filthy, this time it didnt look dirty but hit it with a toothbrush and rinsed it and now runs sweet (might change where I buy my fuel!)

its a 1976 z900 mate - its nothing at all like a 2003 ZX6  - no fuel pump and the only fuel filter is fitted inside the tank above the fuel tap.
