03 zx12r misfiring update

Postby nickjt » Fri Jun 28, 2013 5:31 pm

Hey guys
Been soooo busy lately..... thought i would post an update on the 12r issue i had since i finally have a few moments to spare!
At my last post, i was going to do a compression test....so i done that, and ALL GOOD! so, i was left wondering what else there was that i could do myself to find this fault?
NOT MUCH :? so i took the bike to a guy who was recommended to me by a friend, this guy is supposed to be the bees knees he reckons....
A leak down test done, showed a wee bit more than normal leakage past the rings on number 1..... other than that, ALL GOOD!
So, fuel issue he reckons.... Out with the injectors, off to the injector cleaning doctors...
A new cam cover gasket fitted (because it was leaking like they all do apparently!)
The injectors re-fitted after cleaning..... And YEEEHAAAAA fixed!!!! Well, about 95% better than before anyway!
And a rather embarrassing lesson learned for me  !
DON'T RUN GULL BIOFUELL in my bike EVER AGAIN!!!
So, next service will include a fresh set of Injectors @ $177.00 each!
