I have 1986 GPZ 1000 RX with a problem bike was running fine.only just purchased bike thought i would give it a good service changed oil all other fluids fitted new plugs then went for a run went fine for about half an hour then motor just shut down like it had run out of fuel it restarted ran fine for 5 minutes spluttered and stopped again several times backfired.pulled plugs out to check looked fine.checked coils metered up fine now the bike wont rev out just splutters but will sit idling fine. any one had this problem
I did with a ZZR11, idled fine, coughed and died when revved, twas the fuel pump and finally went completely in THE MIDDLE OF NO-WHERE...as they do. Actually pump was fine it was the wiring that had slowly corroded through.
fuel was my first thought completely drain tank thought it might have been water clear as,it has small in line filter checked clean as, Not sure about fuel pump(carby),better have a look at caps and leads maybe. thanks bear/seiko
just sorted the electrical problem out caps and leads where the culprits made up new leads fitted new caps fired her up sweet goes like a cut cat again.

Just open the photos in 'Paint' and re-size to 50% or 75% .....whatever you need. Upload to photobucket and just link the image back here with the [IMG] tag.
