well, im thinking since im too poor to upgrade at the end of the year, ill fix up the ninja a bit, visual wise.

im thinking after i repair the body a bit, maybe do like a flat camo paintjob, since its missing some parts :P

like pickerings drift car Image

then black / lip polished rims, or just black rims

edit, oh i also need to fix up some things that are creeking and giving me strain... so can you remove the rear suspension and clean it up and regrease it ? cause its packed with mud, and squeaky. if not, ill just whack in a ninja500 adjustable rear.

Look out for resale value .... that paint job is fine if you want to keep the bike long term...but go to sell & ppl will shy away from custom paint.... they think you are hiding repairs....which it sounds like you are!.... for my 10c worth keep it stock colour.

As for the shock you can strip the parts clean regrease & assemble again, you just need to be able to jack up the rear without using the swing arm.... + check for special tools first that might slow your progress.

Happy to lend a hand if needed just PM me

Do what you like with the paint job, but depending on how much you weigh, a 500 shock might not be the best solution ! Check this site out, http://www.ninja250.info/index.htm they have lots of good info on the 250, and all the different kinds of Mods you can do, Including which shocks you can put in !

woody, thats the place i got the info on the 500 shock from, its identical, but with adjustable preload, and is a bit taller.

and at the moment, the stock paint is falling apaart... everywhere... and i should be owning the ninja for a while... so paintjjob sounds fine too me

Yes, but because of the way the suspension linkages work on the 250, I think the 500 shock is slightly softer than the 250 shock, that's why I said it depends how much you weigh or if you take a pillion ! I've got the sv650 shock in the rear of my 250, and the handling has improved heaps !

Good Luck
