I have bought 4 sets of genuine Suzuki Chinese-made engine rebuild kits for my GN250s. Suzuki subcontracted a chinese company to build complete GN250s for them. I have built two engines with them, and both have done around 5000km each and are great. They cost $60 each for new barrel, piston, rings, gudgeon, and all gaskets. The same genuine jap parts cost $610 from Suzuki here.
Did crows nest trail ride with mate on chinese chooky ran perfect all day with the exception of a blown tube. $1500 bike so not a real cheap one. (grudge 250cc)
Have had a business advisor been pushing me to buy a new set of Chinese 150cc bikes to replace my GN250s in my school. Around $2k each they look ok but I wasn't convinced. Took a guy for his licence on his own Chinese made Sachs 150 recently, and with 14000km on the clock you could move the back wheel 3 inches coz the swingarm bushes were shot.
Guess some stuff is OK and some isn't.
