how to make leds visible during day?

Sat Jul 02, 2011 12:57 pm

hi all,

just brought some leds signal lights online and the problem is that you cannot see them blink during the day (especially on a bright sunny day)

any cheap mods to make them more visible?
im thinking of tinting the clear plastic or maybe putting yellow cellophane inside the case to make them more visible

um, this kind of begs the question - not to detract from you wanting to put a bit of bling on the bike, that's your business - but what was wrong with the factory blinkers?

if blinker visibility is an issue on a bright sunny day then im not sure tinting the clear lenses would help boost visibility.. the led's you got are probably quite small (and possibly not very bright?) by the sounds of it. photo?

got my fender removed so i had to get rid of the stock blinkers as well, dont want to use them cause they look way too bulky

i actually had a look at them yesterday, seems fine to me, not sure what my mate was on about (he was riding behind me at that time and told me)
maybe the sun was shining directly on them at that time, either that or he needs to have his eyes checked lol
