Re: 2011 ZX10R Race bike build, from street to track.

Since I'm still recovering form the shock of buying these rims, the buying of go fast bits has ground to a halt.

Still on the shopping list is a Brembo brake reservoir and a BMC Carbon Air filter. But these might have to be a Christmas present to myself, and for now they must wait.

Over the past 2 weeks, I took off all the Shark/aircraft stickers and decided to do something totally different.

It needed to be bright, eye catching, fun, something that would bring a smile to all but the oldest of old guard racers. I had an idea, but needed to get it done in a short space of time and needed to get it done with minimal cash outlay. I needed lots of colours, but not a lot of each so buying a roll of each colour vinyl was out of the question. A local sign writing company very kindly let me pick though a mountain of off cuts and by the end of my lunch break I had meters and meters of brightly coloured vinyl for free.

Next I was able to procure the loan of a vinyl cutter, which I unfortunately could not get to work with my PC but with the aid of WTF Graphic an Design I was able to get all the basic shapes cut out in the matter of a few hours...

Now began the long task of applying all the stickers, initially I had expected to consume about 200 individual sticker components... in the end after 2 and a bit evenings in a freezing cold shed I had applied 345 individual stickers to my ZX10R...

The end result was exactly what I was going for, visually striking, instantly recognizable, fun, colourful and it really did bring a smile to everyone's face who saw it... now for those who weren't at Round 5 last Sunday... I present... *drumroll*... Pacman... THE BIKE!!!

It has been a very long time since I updated this thread... and since then a lot has happened....

Firstly I won the best presented Solo machine in the state club... not bad for was just meant to be a bit of a laugh.

Then I put it on display at the Western Australian Motorcycle and Scooter show... where it won the best race bike on display... We're a funny breed in the west....
