Any ZXR J Model owners out there....

Mon May 28, 2012 5:01 pm

I'm after a bit of an assist from any ZXR750 J model owners;

I have two damaged fairings for my L model and I'm hoping to check the mounting points on the J model panels to see if they match so I can widen my search for fairings to include J models too!

I'm clutching at straws trying to avoid buying a set from overseas and shipping them myself as it's extorsionate!

None available on ebay from Hong Kong; I wish!

Failing the above or bodging mine up it's looking like the States or Europe!

Or does anyone know if a set of fibreglass fairings with the light holes cut will pass Blue Slip?

Check out eBay there's a guy overseas doing new reproduction stuff.

Not sure if the mounts are different I can measure some stuff on my J if you tell me what you need?

when I got my j it had 1996 P fibreglass race fairings on it. The frame brackets had been changed to later ones...but seemed to fit up fine. Dunno whether plastic fairings would have fitted but the fibreglass ones did.

Have been checking ebay Bogan but getting no luck; do you have a tag/link for the items you've seen?

I mainly need to know if the fairings are the same shap and have the same mounting holes; if you could take a side on photo of the left and right panels I think I'd be good from there!

Cheers

Bikepics.com will allow you to see pics of pretty much any bike.

Check this link and go to seller's other items and see if they have stuff for your model:

I can't do it at work and my phone isn't playing nice either.

I'll have a look tonight but going from experience getting stuff from the UK the courier fees are astronomical!

I might have found a place that'll do me GRP copies in Sydney but they want $319 a panel!

Gonna have a go at it myself as I've got the race panels to use as a guide to get the shape right!

Would be ideal if someone on here had some smashed panels they didn't need so I could butcher the two together!

If I'm gonna pay that much for fairings mate I'd rather wait for an original set of plastics to come up!

Still may Streetfighter it if fairings become too had to come by!

Hi there

I was in the same predicament with my L1 model. I have a fairing off a 91 model (left hand side) if that helps? I was going to fit it to my L1 but they are all different shapes so I got my originals plastic welded.

The 91 fairing I have is pretty much perfect, just missing one of the upper screw holes where it bolts to the front nose cone fairing
