single yoshi on a 07 zx10

Mon Aug 20, 2012 2:16 pm

hi fella,s
i really love the look of the 07,s ass end without the dual pipes
ive just picked up an r55 single pipe really cheap and wanted to know.
if i mount it on my 07 zx10 instead of the dual oem pipes, will i HAVE to get a power commander and have it tuned?
if i dont get a power commander and it runs fine ,is there a possibility of me damaging the motor?
thanks for any help
Matt

Hi Matt,
Couple of questions, is it a full pipe, with headers? or from the header flange, with cat gone?
If a full system, or from the header flange, without the cat, then if ur system is stock? ie, still has exup in place, then that will go.
Myself... i would get a PC3 and fit it, then take to someone thats recomended :) and just get it custom mapped, it really is the best way to go, cost prob $350 ish, PC3 is all u need on the 07, they dont run anything other than engine management..

The gain is in HP... stock there around 149/150 .. with pipe, race cleaner, cat gone, and a custom mapped PC3.. u would with a healthy engine get 170 plus... mine is at 172.4, my mates is 174.2... same engine, same mods...

Thats the way i would go.... :) :)

Get a EKJ kit so you can tune it on the run & not have to worry about the cost of dyno time..
