NEW RIDING GEAR NEEDED...

Fri Oct 12, 2012 7:32 pm

Hi guys,
Needing a new jacket At least...
Should i go a full leather 2 piece or just a new jacket??
Have dragon jeans for the lower 1/2....much more cooler and comfy in the warmer months
Or should i just go a full suit?
And what would be a good price??? Jacket and/or suit????
Comments ppl
Thx!

Nothing beats a full suit for safety (if fitted well, like all gear) but depends on your riding habits.

Well fitted 2 piece makes a lot of sense if you only want to make one purchase.

Try your gear sitting on a bike, that's how it needs to fit.

Leather is by far better. They also have better protection and armour.

Buying as a complete set all depends on whether your in proportion e.g. same size for both top and bottom. Some of us need to buy them separately

Leather is far more comfortable on hot days if you wear Skins or the like underneath. It makes it easier to move in them on hot days.

Thx guys!
ok...so....armour is what i was thinking about...some more protection...
AM definately in proportion....average build...
was thinking maybe a 2 piece suit...so i have the option...sometimes want/need sliders...
on the times that i dont.....just a good jacket with armour and Dragons will suffice...
My scooter is just a toy....ride only when the sun is out...(unless i get caught in the rain)
What prices am i looking at for a 1/2 decent one??
Thx in advance...

Cally..

2 piece no question.
Action at Parramatta have a shit load of Beric suits on sale all the time. Get your ass there and try on a few. I got the 2 piece race suit ( as cool as when your on the move as theres heaps of holes so your body can breath) and had to mix and match the tops and bottoms to make a fit. but i'm short and fat. They do mail order but its a PITA to get the right size without trying A heap on.

One thing I did notice about the race suit was they are f%&king cold in winter for the same reason there cool in summer. so get some good bike thormals as well.

There quite a few guys with Collins stuff.

You measure yourself up, buy them they get posted. If they are wrong you can send back and swap over.

Yeah I've crash tested my Collins Suit as well  they are a good suit but I find wearing it all day the knee armour plays havoc with my knees, If I am going touring in it I remove the knee armour, not the best I know but if I want to be able to walk when I get off the bike it's really what I have to do! :( usually when I work at the Creek I leave my leathers on until about 2pm then I find I have to change out of them between sessions as my knees are starting to get too sore.

As the others have said, get two piece leathers. Berik or Collins will serve you well. Get ventilated ones and in winter, just throw a jumper or jacket over the top.

All of the above cally..also there's some decent priced astars stuff on ebay worth a look..I find them a size smaller on the sizing than others, .their tech base unders are well worth the dollars aust.
