Well in South Australia the police highway patrol wear mainly textile with some opting for leather jacket/pant combinations in winter/autumn and spring. As they must meet VERY strict occupational health & safety I tend to take my lead from them. Strangely enough in summer here most seem to favour short sleeve cotton shirts! Go figure. In California when it was hot (over 30 Celcius) I noticed MOST bike police wore only standard cotton shirts and textile or ballistic pants. Also, I have seen them going at least 160 KPH + in pursuit with shirts!! Yikes.((

Then again I "cringe" when I see motorcyclists with no gloves, shirts, shorts, bare arms, sandshoes, sunglasses etc...... These humans have NOT fallen off YET..... Personally I adhere to the posted limits here in SA. 110 KMH on freeways and 100 KMH/80 KMH elsewhere. In summer I wear Dainese Zentex semi-mesh jacket with built in body armour ($400.00), Dainese Drake textile mesh-vent pants with built in body armour ($400.00), Dainese full race gloves ($249.00), Teknic medium hight ankle sport boots ($250.00) and AGV Ti Tech with Iridium visor. But if it's over 30 Celcius I take my "AWESOME" 82 KW 07 Hyundai Getz with the air con on and ENJOY watching the parade of aformentioned variously clad (or unclad) motorcyclists wizz by whilst simultaneously getting heatstroke!.(

PS* I have NO IDEA how anyone can handle wearing ANY clothing other than a light top/shirt, shorts even whilst seated outdoors when it's 40+ Celcius let alone attempt to ride a motorcycle!!!! I guess I could manage 10 minutes but that's it.

Cheers!
Yes even an 06 ZX10R can be ridden like a scooter........ Just don't rev past 2,000 RPM.

At 35 Celcius I'd be toast in 30 minutes....... Even at 100 KMH. Then again maybe it's my age. I am 50 after all and I'm NOT fit at all..... :D :D
