I just replaced my front-disc for my ZZR-250, cost me $300 for an aftermarket one.

Mate toys cost coinage. If its only done 10k (which sounds shonkie imo) n the discs are rooted I'm sure the calipers will probably need kits put through them as well, so add another coupla hundred if thats the case. Its normal to get at LEAST 3 pad changes before discs need replacing so its had a hard life for 10k. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but get it checked out properly. I'm sure you dont want a brake failure on your new toy........ splat  .
Chin up cheers Brett

Why do u think u need to change the disc? Did yur mechanic says so?
U might wanna seek a 2nd opinion from another mechanic, see wat he has to say.

By the way, the ZZR-250 front uses a floating disc, I'm not sure if it's the same as the ZX2R.
Just a reminder, when u change a new disc, it has to go along with a new set of pads. U can't use the old pads on the new disc.

Which simply means...... more $$ to be spent.

2 mechanics have both said disks so yeah i trust both of them i do believe its a floating disk well disks as 4 changing pads both mechanics told me unless they have worn uneven the old pads would be ok. if u go to kmart theyy always tell u new pads with disks but it isnt the case. but yeah i have ordered some fang dangle gold ones supposed to stop so much heat. but old pads aslong as they havnt worn uneven would be ok.

so long as the pads are even.. your gunna have to rough them up on the ground anyway before fitting them...

If not I have a set of EBC for a ZX2R sitting at home :-)
