........WARNING SLIGHT RANT ....
Kylie dont get a GOOD product mixed up with good Service, two completely different things.
So they Sold you the brand new zx6r for a good price (ow thats gonna hurt em), they managed to get it low enough for you too ride (again the lenghts they will go to  ), was there any charges involved in the seat chop etc ?. Did they also adjust the Suspension to suit your Less then average wt ? (surely if ht is a concern then wt would be too) I mean they want you too ride safe & lessen any possible headshakes & near death experiences from not having it set up as well as possible ?. (its our riders that keep us in business) Was delivery date the original date discussed ?, you did say it was late on the day, Did they match any prices for accessories from the net or other outlets ? (surely they did).
I'm sure they did all these things cause like our Pollies they dont care about Sales or votes they just want what is best for us. Sell us a bike, sting us at services & for accessories & pray like shit we come back soon for another New bike.
Brett
They are'nt alone treating customers like this, but its nice to have a rant now n then.
Bob hope its sorted soon mate see you on the next ride.

Hmm. I guess. They didn't set up the suspension for my weight. They dropped the bikes forks through the triple tree and wound down the suspension before I got the bike. They did deliver the day they said they would but it was at 10:30pm and they took a little bit of a hunk out of my left rearset cos the bike was in the ute with another bike and they must have rubbed together. There were no extra charges for the delivery and the suspension alteration. I suppose it was all out of the goodness of their heart

I was a bit pissed about them not filling out the service manual because they should have double checked it but then again I should have checked it too before I rode 1.5hours back home. I prefer not to deal with dealerships as they rape your wallet and will stab you anyway they can. I have a private mechanic who is very good and the bike feels brand new after it's been to him. I feel the bike is worse after being serviced at a dealership, like yhey sexually abused her by shoving a wrench were it shouldn't go. Oh the injustice.

Hope you get this all sorted out Beryl. Make sure they fill out your log book, please! Hopefully we can catch up at the ride

Bugger! If it makes you feel any better i saw a guy bin his new gsxr 750 in the driveway of a bike shop in front of about 10 ppl where he had just brought it. He saw a space in the traffic and gassed it on new tires, back wheel over took the front.

Sandpaper will only help slightly as the release agent is in the rubber.
Get the tires warm(well as warm as you can in a straight line). Then start leaning slightly into the corners getting more and more lean after a few corners untill your knee is on the ground

glad my dealer is a bloke i use to work for!!..hes even lending me a trade
plate so i cant take it to get rego without having to trailer it!!
everything i order comes in FAST, they call me to let me kno its here, they
look after me $$ wise, after a service it feels amazing...they put on a dvd
every day in the show room so u can watch sumthing, but usually i get a loan
bike (no charge or nuthin) or drive me where i need to go, or lend me a bike
off the floor to get around on...
thats service...

see, ppl laugh at me for doin the weave thing, but its never failed
me...after a new set of tread, i ride out gently as, then after a few km i
start the weave, getting more angle gradually till i feel its getting a bit
worn..then i go to a road i kno REALLY well & do several laps (eagle on the
hill in SA, Maq Pass in NSW) and slowly build speed...one theory is that as
the tyre warms up it disperses the crap , another is that u have to wear it
off..either way, i try to weave & ride for a while to get it hot, make the
most of both theories...
bad news beryl, hope u sort it soon...good luck..

tyres arent put on by the dealer, but by the manufacturer.basically the
reason there might b different tyres is this...
Kwaka goes to dun/bridg/michy & says " we want 10,000 tyres for our new
zx6r, what tyre will u do"
they do a deal, and the tyres are put on.
6 months later when the original 10000 tyres are gone, they do it
again..offer 3 or 4 companies the chance to come up with a deal...if a
different manufacturer gets the second deal based on price etc, they go with
them.
honda mainly deal with bridgy or michy.dunno abt kwaka, im guessing michy &
duny .
hence why sumtimes 2 04 zx6r's may have 2 different brand tyres, or
compounds..

If it makes you feel any better, you ain't the first & you won't be the last. In 1998 I dropped my mate off at a local dealer so he could pick up his brand-spanking new R1 and then watched him gracefully low-side it as he pulled out onto the road. He got about 3 metres :?
Watching $18,000 of bike go down is not a pretty site & while it was bugger-all damage, it is not what you want to see happen to a brand new bike.
Hope it all gets sorted quickly & easily.

DAMN dude, that really sucks.....
there was a guy at the honda place (brisbane bikes in windsor, yes, i used to have a cbr600  ) buying a totally tricked out ducati of some sort (don't know models and crap about those spewcatis!) which he custom ordered and had extra trick parts put on (he was talking to a guy behind the counter really loudly about it so that everyone would know how great his new POSER bike was) anyway, more gloating and gearing up in his beautifully hand crafted this and that leather, hops on the bike, i go have a look (yeah great, it DID look the part) he starts it, ooo sounds sweet, then he goes down the side road there up to a stop sign and.... DROPPED IT!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! sorry, yes i know a fellow rider down and all that, but... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! dude, it was HILARIOUS!!! he broke off the special foot peg, snapped the brake levers on the right side (both), mirror was gone, scratches all over it, and the frame was bent!!! more $$$$$$ for him!!! later learned it was his FIRST bike! lovely.
nice looking bike tho....

was at Goodyear at Clayfield once getting a tyre put on my car as the wife decided to ram the other one into a gutter ( another story ) anyway heard this sickening scraping noise and plastic breaking.

Turned around and a bloke just dropped his yellow spewcati 748, broken mirror, indicator etc. Tried to go over and see if he was ok but he must have been that embarrased he picked it up quick smart and took off!! Must admit though had a giggle, when thinking that that minor off will cost him minimum 1500 bucks!! and the fact it was a ducati!!

that seems a bit steep for at least what's visible. I see fairing, bar end, and you said the exhaust was scratched.
Be curious to see their breakdown of parts

$6000, what a load of bollocks. The damage there is no more than 2 grand and thats uying new kawasaki stuff instead of fixing it.

Funny story I heard yesterday from a mate. There is this wanker who lives in town here, has rich parents. He used to be a bit of a local hero with all the ricerboys because he had some very powerful tricked up 200sx gloria that he couldnt drive for shit.
So this little ricer-wanker walks into the local ducati dealership the other day having never even ridden a bike before and buys himself a brand spanking 999 horn machine (I love dukes). He wobbles it to his mates place to show it off trying to figure out how to change gears on the way, stands around with them for a while telling them about his new toy and how he cant ride it so when he leaves they have to give him a push start to stop him from falling over he rides down the road in a straight line... wobble wobble wobble tumble, no more 999. What an absolute wanker.
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions" screw it then i'll just be bad.
