Stacked 7R

Postby kempy » Sun Oct 31, 2004 11:44 am

Well today on the Brisbane ride day, I stacked my 7R.

Coming back down Mt Mee, going through a nice section of left and rights, though the road is up and down and pretty bumpy. Came into a corner too hot, slammed the anchors on, wasn't enough, tried to turn, still went wide, into the kitty litter and down I went.

Right side and front fairings fucked, and I mean FUCKED. Can scratched a bit, mechanically perfect. Rode home like just as quickly as I'd been riding all day, didn't miss a beat.

Me? I'm fine. No injuries whatsoever. Feeling? indifferent.

Apart from that, I had the best time today, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Greenmeanie's got the pics.

FUCK OFF!
PM me mate, got some bits to help you out :(

No one, had been chasing Greenmeanie, Darren and Rob down the mountain. They'd left me a bit behind, so was by myself really.

Kempy i am glad you are ok. Damage appears like its just cosmetic stuff and i wasn't going to post any pics till i got your permission so i guess its ok to now. Mate i hope you weren't trying to push the pace to catch up cause i tend to go  on that run(was pacey) .

Regards
Glenn(zx7r).

Very sorry to hear it dude.
Will ya repaint it and if so will you keep it original?
Ive pertty much decided that Im just gonna put the 2003 scheme on mine instead of going wild custom.
Cosmetics arent too expensive to fix and you can still ride yours unlike me (bent forks) so youre kinda lucky in that regard I guess.
Glad to hear youre OK.

Meh, I was and I wasn't. I always ride better, and stupider when I'm by myself.

I wasn't interested in keeping pace with anyone today. So once yous buggered off and I was left to my own devices, yeah I went a bit stupid. Only my 2nd ever run over Mt Mee on the 7R, hell malaney too. Don't know the road, yet was silly enough to go putting the bike through its paces.

As for repairs, well yeah, nothing needs fixing bar the fairings. So, looks like i'm gonna go with raceglass. As for keeping it original, I doubt its worth it. Stickers cost a damned forture, and with the massive stickers the 01 7R has on it, just rediculous. Might be time for a bit of custom work?

Dunno, find out when the time comes I suppose.

:( pissa mate i'm sorry to hear about that. It will shit you but its only stuff and at least you're OK. The accident i saw down on the Murray Valley Hwy puts it all into perspective, anyone you walk away from is a bonus and merely a learning experience.

I was asking who was behind you to see if they shit themselves as i'm sure you did. The group impressed with the its manners as for pace, letting folks through and waiting for the group to reform. Mate its only Plastic & paint, as Sean said the only crash to comtemplate is 1 thats in your past that didnt cause injury.

that sucks Kempy.
Look on the bright side - something to fix up while you're suspended ... sounds like it's time for a :partyman: though.
Good luck mate.

Just saw the pics, looks like the frame isnt scratched which is great, thats an insurance write off and nobody wants to touch a bike with a scratched frame.
Raceglass for the 7 is $770 for a full ste including screen and Dzus fasteners from Raceglass, give me a PM if you need the number and ill hunt it down.
Great excuse to get a new can too.
