ZZR 1100 C2 1991

Sun Mar 22, 2009 10:27 am

Presumably the front and rear wheel bearings are the same as in the D2 Model.
I only have the service manual for the later model.
I replaced the speedo drive because of an annoying squeek in the front and it was pretty chewed up, but alas the squeek remains.
Checked the wheel bearings and hey presto! DOH
If anyone knows they are different please let me know, otherwise I will get from the D2 part number.
Cheer's Steve
P.S. anyone have the C2 Manual???? :)

The C and D models are different as are a lot of things on theses bikes. take the bearings out and go to your nearest bearing shop you will get them and the seals a lot cheaper.

Thanks Mate.
Just trying to do it the lazy way because I don't have the room to have a pulled apart bike sitting around.

Handy little site this one.
All part numbers http://www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-1991-c2-z ... F2230.html
When you find the part number and then do a search by part number, it tells you all of the other models it is used in.
Woo-hoo :kuda:

Guess what?
Did the bearings! Pulled em out and they were fine, replaced anyway but where is that MF squeek coming from????
Ever known a speedo cable to squeek?
Inner seems fine, but what about the outer?
Sick of this shit, it's getting expensive!

It's a motion squeek, a lot like a bearing when it's really really shagged.
When I slow down, so does the squeek!
Now I have an invisible oil leak too, puffs of smoke coming from underside like clockwork this morning, like something dripping on exhaust.
Pulled of all the Fairings and hey presto NO LEAK to be seen and I spent a good half hour with a torch looking for it.
Bugger it, I ride tomorrow anyhoo!!!!!

Have a look at the speedo drive for your squeak, your oil leak may be coming from the oil cooler (does the 1100 have one?) the banjo fittings have been known to split on the 1200.
