What's it worth?

Postby MattyB » Mon Jul 06, 2009 2:22 pm

Guys have a very quick question, I have a VERY neat, well looked after 99 ZZR1100 with 39000 klm on the dial and was wondering what it might be worth (ballpark)
I am thinkign of trading it for a new bike or wonderign if it is better to sell privately?

It has a HID headlight conversion, twin polished Staintunes, almost new EBC brakes, heated hand grips, tinted screen, and gear sack and rack to match, oh and a magnetic tank bag as well (Dririder), also rego till June 2010.

just chasing an idea of what it is worth, but if anyone is genuinely interested let me know and I can let you check it out. Woudl rather see it go to a good home than trade it in

Cheers
Matt

P.S. will get some pictures up as soon as I have had a chance to take em!

Hi Matt
I would guess around the 5-6 K mark if shes in good nick as you suggest ;)
Trade in wont get you much....... if you can wait for a buyer sell it private.

Yeah that what a dealer wants.........the mark up would be pretty big me guess :?
Matt check out the red book Value as a guide, its your best bet as thats what potential buyers would be using.

Thanks guys, I am still deciding what to do, I love the ZZR, but after riding a new bike I am kinda torn between the two.
Maybe it is better the devil you know

I got $6,900 as a trade in late last year on my 09/2001 ZZR1100 with 64,000k, it was in exceptional condition (even if I do say so myself) unmarked never dropped, with up to date log books etc and hardcase Givi Panniers....... At the time there were similar bikes privately for around the same money or a bit more.... Better Bikes at Belmore NSW had an identical bike without the panniers for $8,900 which did sell for a rumoured $7,500.
Did someone say Pic's or it didn't happen................ :kuda:

Well, I bought mine for $8K 8 months ago thru a dealer :( (on consignment from a guy who worked there and wouldn't part with it for less  ), it's immaculate, had 29100km when bought, full log books, Ohlins rear, bits of extra chrome/polishing, but otherwise stock (I love it and well worth the $$$). The dealer offered me $3250 trade for my GS500F :o , which I sold in less than 24hrs privately for $4500 :D (could've got more, but I'm NO salesman  )!! Also a mate had a XJR1300sp with 20000km, as new, put it on consignment, the dealer got $9800, he got $7300 :x . Short answer?? Sell privately. Screw the dealers, they want to make $$ both ways. These are CLASSIC bikes and well maintained examples will hold their value for a long time to come, keep it is my advice. ;)

Triumph 1050 Tiger, and have decided to part company with the ZZR, will advertise it here in the next couple of months first then off to Ebay if no one here is looking for a good and cheap 1100
