ZZR250 idling fast

Postby DMonkey » Tue Jun 23, 2009 9:47 pm

So i dropped my bike a few weeks ago, sent it to the bike shop to get fixed. I get back on the bike today and its idling fast once i start riding. Its fine when i first start it ill keep it at about 3k with throttle to warm it up then it will drop back down to about 1.2k. But once i start riding and get the revs up a little it wont drop back down under 2.5-3k. The choke is defiantly all the way off.... Not sure what it could be causing this?
Thanks in advance guys!

as you sit on the bike, on the left hand side, there is a knob which you can turn to adjust the throttle screw on the carby.
Warm the bike up so that it idles at 3k, then wind it back till it idles at 1.2

is it a little black one down just above where the thing you change the gears with your foot is?

I found that knob when cleaning the bike, I thought it was a screw so I undit it as far as I could. I was trying to get all the various pieces off the bike to give it a good cleaning. Took me a while to figure out why the bike wouldn't run!
