sticky throttle

on my zzr i have noticed that the throttle is abit sticky. once you let go of the throttle it stays in position.
Now im brand new to bikes. previous was always working on 4 wheel drives. To me it looks like the grip is to far up and is getting caught to the control assembly. It appears to have plenty of lube down the side of the grip. Could it be something else.

does any of this make sense or not lol.

well looking at it more it could possibly be the throttle control itself. Are they easy to work on.

They are easy as to work on.

Loosen of the adjuster just up the cable from the throttle housing. This may allow a little more free play.

Other than the loosen the 2 screws on the housing and adjust the throttle position a bit. Some have a sweet spot where they tend to work much better

WD on the bar (not the hand grip) & lube the cable/ cable's, cable oilers can be bought for under $10 from most bike shops, I have one thats 15 + years old & still going strong mind you I spotted one with 2 screws the other day that has me interested in upgrading.

Yep take the cable out of the throttle housing & basically feed the cable through the oiler & clamp down on the outer tube, then you spray WD through the small hole, it forces the WD through the inside & basically keep spraying till it comes out the other end of the cable, if the oiler leaks then you have done it wrong. ;)
