Leaking oil at head?

My GPz750R1 is leaking oil at the outer edge of both sides of the head where it meets the block. I can remember on the base gasket there was an o-ring around the oil passages to the cams, but can't remember if there was an o-ring at the head gasket, or if it was just the gasket expected to stop oil leaks in the oil passage? Anyway, whatever it is, it's not working :( I've re-tensioned the head bolts since I rebuilt the engine about 6months ago. I'm assuming it's at least worth a try to re-tension the bolts again .. or is this just fruitless and I should just replace the headgasket again?

Sorry .. obviously I remembered this backwards. The o-ring is between block and head (and there was some silicone dabbed at the base gasket for this). I do remember putting the o-ring in, so not sure why it's leaking :(
No .. no decking of the head and I did a quick striaghtness check of the block and head beforehand.

i'd re-torque....you know the pattern eh???

if it's box stock & you've done everything right it shouldn't be leaking there

btw...the silicon goes on the head gasket in front of & behind the cam chain

would there be any reason to think the studs were stretched?...(i've had to use skinny washers under the cap nuts before...but not because the studs were too long...the top end was too short...LOL)

Ok .. I'll try re-torque and see if any improvement. It didn't leak immediately after the rebuild, so I'm hoping that's it ..

Lucky it's not watercooled or I'd be in real trouble ..

Traded off smokey (rings) for oily after the rebuild. At least oily isn't quite as obvious ..
