The Z750 is tip-top.

I got the Z750 serviced today down at Parra Kawa and also put it on the dyno while I was there - 99.2 RWHP! (96.4 SAE) I love the feeling of a bike thats just been serviced - all crisp and responsive, smooth and tight. I always have Glen, the head mechanic at Parra Kawa, to work on it because I know the way he works and the pride he takes in his work.

I was wondering, do you guys have a preferred mechanic that you always go to or do you just go wherever convenient?

I stopped getting my bike serviced 'where convient' after a few bad services on my bike - now I've found a mech that I trust, I always take it to him... It's worth the extra time, effort and $$ - I know that it's done properly, not by an apprentice or someone who doesn't really give a stuff....

I only take my bike to one shop.

I used to take mine to where Mario took his, Race Replica Kawasaki in Brooklyn...

...that was until they serviced his bike and gave it back to him with the front calipers loose.

I take mine to a Suzuki Dealer in Bendigo, they have a mechanic who used to work on Kawasakis in a previous life and doesn't mind me asking him lots of newbie stoopid questions. The only thing wrong with the dealer is the POS XJ600 they had as a loaner, wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding and had less go than my GPX250.

I may try the Kawasaki dealer in Bendigo next time and see how they handle the same thing. I don't know if they have a loaner though, and they were meant to be more expensive than the Suzuki dealer.

I had a chain and sprocket replaced by the local Honda ATV/Trail Bike/Generator/chainsaw dealer. I supplied the bits, and he had the rattle gun and cold chisel needed to loosen the front sprocket

There is only one bike shop in the Whitsunday's (well two if you count Proserpine). Fortunately the guy there is pretty good. He'd have to be in a small community like mine, word gets around pretty quick!

I always take mine to Gibbo at Gosford Motorcycles for the big services. Only ever had good experiences with him.
He's a small shop, so not necessarily having experience and detailed knowledge of every bike out there (eg mine's the first ZZR600 he's worked on) but he knows what he's doing with bikes regardless and never rips me off. Normally get some sort of discount too and they've helped me out alot - so I always give them my business where possible.

If somewhere else where dramatically cheaper for something then I'm not stupid. But I ask them first if they can match it.

Mick, mine is due for its 12,000 service next week, and I'm taking it to Slipstream Motorcycles in Horne St Sunbury. First time for me, but Rob (Rorrock) has been there quite a bit lately, and can't fault em (correct me if I'm wrong Rob).

Darcy at Bike Performance Enoggera ph33551089 every 6 months or 6000k's which ever comes first. One man operation, been going to him for the last 3 years no problems at all and my mate has been taking his bikes there for the last 8 years.

Maybe its just me, but I have list of shops I would not take my bike too bigger than the ones I would...

I'll have the 9 at the track next Thursday so I'll be able to report on the work done at Parra Kawi then... So far so good...

I hope you're breaking that bike in right this time round dave....

Don't just go jumping on the throttle, if you want it to last this time

Good to see that not only Parra Kwaka are a sponser but also do excellent work.

After such bad service at Northcoast Kawasaki I would never go back to a dealer to get my bike serviced.

Had the ZX6R in today for its 1000km service at Midtown, pretty good guys, I got to sit in a comfy lounge and watch a DVD! They did put oil all over my muffler but they did wash the bike after the service! I was impressed! I heard you had to get your bike serviced from a Kawasaki dealer for the first time so I drove down to Brisbane and all the way back just for the bike. Wrists/Bum = Sore.

I get my bikes serviced by a local mech who to me, is the ants pants. He's cheaper and also gets the job done quick. Dealers, from my experience screw you around too much and they revved the shiat out of my bike when they took it for a test run after the service, not happy Jan.

Reving the sh!t out of these things isn't always a bad thing - as long as the oil is clean and the engine is warmed up (oh, and run in)

I know a lot of guys who wheelie their new bikes from the shop.

BUT, they do warm up the bike, and change the oil (full synthetic) every 1000 kms. Never heard of them having a problem with their machines either.

Poor maintenance and old/dirty oil will kill these engines.

I wasn't overly impressed with the guys at NorthCoast Kwaka either...I didn't buy anything from them.

Most of the bike shops in M'dore leave a lot to be desired says me...

That's why I bought my bike in Gympie...and nearly everything since.
