Rg500 mk5 110bhp
my own cb1100r 106bhp
my own tz750 130bhp
most tz350's where between 65-70 bhp
the best tz250's where making 60bhp and very fragile with it.
I didn't see them but i was told that the P&M Kawasakis http://teamjamracing.com/PM.aspx which where second tier competitive at the time where putting out about 125 bhp.
Knowing all that is what makes me doubt even 150 bhp, but as you say, without hard numbers we'll never know......

There was a 2-valve kawasaki built here in Oz back in the early 80's, known as The Syndicate. It put out 164hp at the countershaft, measured on an engine dyno. There is a thread about it in this section of the forum - a truly legendary bike, only raced for 2 seasons, took out an NGK Superbike title, and absolutely blitzed everything it raced against, including the quickest TZ750's in the country at the time. Shame it is rotting in a corner of a shed in Melbourne, under a tarp, never to see the light of day again.... :?

Steve Martin rode a GSX1100 Katana at this years Island Classic - it has been dynoed at 180hp at the back wheel - probably helps that a drag racer built the motor ! I reckon if I threw enough money at my own motor, it would crack 140hp pretty easily......just don't have $30k to thow at it......

Oh to say " my own TZ 750 " no matter how many ponies

There is a TZ 350 in the UK , and been here , making a reported 84 bhp  Regular ICGP winning bike .

Better get Mr yzr750 down to share the Island Classic hey Gos ?? :D

Fuck yeah !! That would be great ! How many of your old bikes do you still have yzr750 ? Have you been to the Island Classic ?? Its a great meeting, the premier Historic race meeting in Oz. Geez I enjoyed racing Billy's LC350 at this gig, earlier this year.......it was a ton of fun !!

but I think this old girl should get a run there next year........we'll see.....

Unfortunately I don't have any of them  Typical racer I suppose, once they become uncompetitive get rid and get the latest and greatest. You never think to yourself this thing is going to be worth heaps in a few years, you just sell it to get the money to buy the next one. I also raced a lot of bikes that belonged to sponsors, so you don't get to keep those ones.
I've been meaning to get to the Island Classic for years now, but work commitments have kept me away, and there is also the probability that going there would see me immediately scouring the world for a decent 350G.
Btw, the seat on that zed looks a bit painful :D
Got to admit, LC's are fantastic bikes, probably one of my alltime favourites.
Here's a pic of me on an LC at the IOM, 1980., note the Kawasaki green paint

nice paint scheme :kuda: and nice wheelie.

the seat on the old zeddie now has some Extra comfy 5mm padding - old mouse mat. Works great ! Shame that you don't have any of your old race bikes, but that was how things were back then.

You really need to make the trip to the Island for the 2012 meeting. There are a regular team of pomgolians who come over, many many TZ's of all sizes, more P&M Kawasakis than you can poke a stick at, and some other tasty rigs as well.....they are a great crew who enjoy the meeting - it is becoming one of the premier global Historic meetings, and the roll-call of guest riders at this years meeting, included Jeremy McWillams riding for the poms. He had some pretty funny stories at the dinner on the Friday night.....
