hows the bike going, wobbly? mines come to a screaming halt at the moment and funds have dried up with too much digesting the christmas spirit, but i am still giving a lot of thought to the pressing matters such as seat style and colour scheme over a beer or three.

Yep the above pictures are where its at.
Working 12 -14 hrs a day and no motivation at the moment.
Maybe over the xmas lull I'll sort the wiring proper and then knuckle down to find some carbs, bolt the rear wheel back in anb go get it registered.

They're called heim joints, or rose joints.

Hey that's a wicked Idea Davo, I wonder if I could source some rose joints like that for my gear change lever on my GPZ1100B2? There is so much play in them that I just about have to lift my foot of the peg to change gears... I'll have to wonder into my local bearing shop and see

You should be able to get some new rose-joints for your gear-lever rod and this will remove a lot of the play. These style of rear-set controls were good in theory...
You should also get the front pivot bushed and replace the OEM pivot with a new one. This area alone is the cause of heaps of play in the shift lever rod.

well ive decided to take the advice from the overwhelming response and paint them. wasnt too hard a decision really after looking at a few with polished forks. good luck with the rose joints for your 1100.

Still no one committed but trying hard. First one to come up with cash and remove it from my garage wins.

What ever happened to this project?
Did it get finished?
I've started doing a similar thing - modifying my 82 GPz550 H1. Came across this thread in my hunt for information on these bikes...
