bloody twins and bloody rattles!

after living with a f#$%^&*g rattle in my er6 for 18 months, i have finally found and fixed it!

for ever, it has sounded like it was header pipes, radiator, airbox related. and after pulling the f$%^&g thing to bits at least 10 times and re-tightening everything the f%$%^g rattle was still there! and to make matters worse, it would only happen at certain revs and at certain speeds; just to absolutley piss you off!

accidently, while coming down to a set of lights, i sat up and pushed the clocks, and the mysterious rattle happened! and after a bit more detective work, i found there is a plate behind the clocks, and was attached by 3 nuts (weirdly, m5) and was rattling against the supports. after 'some tennis down a mouse hole' finger and arm gymnastics i managed to get 2 replacement nylock nuts on the bolts, and to add a stiffening support to the plate (bent it a little to stop it wobbling about). in the microfiche, the plate is in the lower left of the fiche, and the nut is 92210 in the lower left corner.

so if you've got weird twin rattles driving you bat shit crazy, have a look at the clocks!
