Dodgey fuel gauge

Postby Toecutter12 » Sat Jan 11, 2014 2:57 pm

Hey all, was just wondering if anyone knows if theres a common problem with the 12 that causes the fuel gauge to not move above 1/4 regardless of the amount in the tank? Had it quickly checked out while being serviced and they reckon there seems to be nothing wrong with the sender etc....
Cheers, Chris.

they checked it too quickly. The only reason the guage doesn't read is when the sender unit is not working properly.

Get someone else to check it. Also - the sender unit could be stuffed ? This is not unheard of in a barge.

I had the same problem in my 12 a few years ago, the first time the fuel pump shit itself. Also had the OEM tank split at a seam as well..... that was dodgy business.
