We ve had this discussion mina but i as you am too lazy to go look for it. I recently turned "Middle old" n Arista do a package for those in my History enhanced category. check the Shannons package, but i think its weekends only ?, Swan were @$300 more the Suncorp who were @$200 more then Arista. Insurance is a must i reckon if for no other reason the you dont have to deal with lawyers.

I'm with NRMA because thay gave me a rating one based on the fact that I haven't had an accident for five years (just cursed myself). I'm 29 and Suncorp wouldn't do that untill you are 30 but assuming that you are their prices were about the same. Based on a mates experience with his car I don't want to have to make a claim with NRMA because it took about 9 months to get his car fixed. So I'm moving over to Suncorp next year because its been my experience that they deal with claims pretty quickly. :)

We seem to have this discussion every month. Let me see if I can summarise and cover previous discussions.
Arista for People over 30 (I think). Swan not bad, Shannon's the surprise packet and were cheaper than Arista. Arista have just increased their premiums , but are still cheap. Last year QBE decided to get out of insuring bikes and jacked their premiums up by 30 - 40 %, but up untill then were cheap. Most people that try Arista, save on average 30 - 40% on their existing insurance. People under the cut off age of 30 get screwed regardless. This is not limited to bikes, you will get screwed for all insurance. Apparently I'm over 30 and I have now gained a huge amount of maturity.

hmm i'm pretty sure qbe is 2 years, but i could be making it all up.
and arista is 25, might also be making that up :)

Arista Do a Pensioner Policy for we "Over Forties" saved me a few more bucks. Never heard about club discounts ?. But i know defensive riding courses dont get you a discount any more.

ok..mina doesnt deserve help..but i will neway...
ive found that being 25 now....
a lot of companies wont touch me cos of 2 accidents & 2 claims in a 12
months period...those who will hit me with a big excess...
*arista went up heaps ,jamie went from 29 to 30 and his premium(no claims in
that period etc) went up like $300....
*qbe,nrma are both too expensive
*aami dont touch bikes over 600cc (in sa neway)
*shannons a bit strict- if u ride during the week they wont insure u, if it
not a harley or show bike, they wont insure u...
this new mob insured me ($550) with my bad record of fines, and previous
accidents. They work it on a points system....heres an example..
rider aged 25-29 =20 points......rider 30-34=15 points
bike valued $7500-under $10k = 20 points...bike $10k-under $12500 = 15
points...
bike garaged= 5 points....bike in car port= 15 points..
they ask u about 5 questions..add up the points, and according to that
number theres a premium...easy as.
they also insured my bike with existing damage (most places WONT)
as i said, with my bad record they impose a $1k excess, but if i went to
arista they quoted $1200 anyway, so if i dont crash in a yr im $650 better,
if i do crash, im about the same (arista excess lower..i think)
also ive heard thru here that arista are pricks with claims...i cant tell u
abt these guys, but gimme a few months & im sure i will b able..lol...
"classic car insurance" is the company..ill see wot details i can get..
