Had another kart day today.
Got a few 10 lap runs in.
Took my lap time from 1:08s down to 1:01s
Played with the chassis, which I now know is adjustable. Got some good temperature in the tyres
and got some throttle oversteer.
I had a go in a well set up rotax and was instantly 3 seconds faster than my kart.
This thing handled like a dream and had great power all over the place.
I can see myself spending more money on this. (apologies for the structure, Im still a little bit excited)

Mate it is addictive...
Most of the adjustment is the rear axle
Wheels in/out
Axle diam & thickness
Hubs (different length hubs)
Different width rims - wider rims stiffen the sidewalls of the tyres

other adjustments
Front wheels in/out
Seat position back/forward, bracing/no bracing
Some frames have stiffening braces and the Azzurro I had you could tighten the sidepod mounting bars and this also stiffened the frame.

I'm sure there's more but it been too long

Biggest thing to remember is SMOOTH. With so little power any sideways action will wipe off speed.
I found the quickest way was to go into a corner slow in, fast out but this leaves you open to someone stuffing it up the inside.

Yep. They said if you can drive well at Cameron Park, then you can drive well anywhere. Its meant to be super technical.

Had another Kart day yesterday.
Brakes were sorted. Jetting was sorted.
First session doing 1:00. Thinking holy fark I cant go any faster. I came back in and another guy at the track told me to relax next session.
2nd session, straight into 59 seconds. Had a rethink after session 2 and realised I was using way too much brake on the way in to the turns
and not using the grip on the tyres mid corner.
3rd Session into the 58 seconds a lap.
Another young guy who had just started racing rotax and had previously been racing in Clubmans pointed out that if you just flatten the throttle in a rotax, it will bog down. So be smooth on the accelerator.
4th session, dipped into the 57's.
5th Session I was determined to break into the 56s. It ende up being a 23 lap run. It went something like (out lap) 1:00, 58.9, 58.1, 57.2, 57.1, 57.2, 57.1........
Didnt break into the 56s this time. Next time out im going with a 81 tooth on the back instead of the 78 I have. Im told this will give me more drive out of the corners.

Great fun and only $30 for all day!

Yeah accelerator don't jump on it give it that split second gap.
Also used to use power braking where you apply the brakes while keeping the accelerator on.
Coming out of a corner whereit was slow and the motor would bog down we would lift our body off the seat then back down.
And a lot of it has to be smooth operation.
But solid form on the lap times mate well done :kuda:
