Underdog Clothing - Any Comments?

Wed Feb 09, 2005 4:48 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying some Underdog wet-weather clothing in the near future to replace my current leaky Dainese gear.

Has anyone had any exposure to the brand? If so, do you have any good/bad/indifferent comments to add before I spend the hard-earned?

I ended up speaking to the guy who owns the company yesterday, and he seems like a really nice guy. I initially had picked another jacket, but he talked me into a cheaper one....

Their leather gear looks pretty reasonable as well. May look at a two-piece suit come next summer (this one has turned out to be pretty shite, and I've been wetter than I'd ever got in the last two winters).

TIA

Can you order stuff directly from him? I was (despite my overwhelming compunction not to) looking at the gear in Cosways....mainly because Peter Stevens no longer is a Kawasaki dealer, and the only handy place for me to drool on the 2005 models is Cosways (pack of no-hopers as they are).

So I did see the 2005 red ZX-6R, 2005 silver ZZR600 and the 2005 blue Z750... 8) ...but they still a pack of the proverbials, and I'll go elsewhere before buying a bike from them (no harm in drooling though).

Mick, Netrider have a discount agreement with Underdog Leathers. 10% it is.

The only Netrider discount I've ever taken up was with Bob Jane, and they didn't even wanna see my membership card. I suggest you just do what Ian did and see what happens :)

Didn't we do this in another thread?? About waiting, I mean.

And what's this up to 3 months crap? Are they waiting for the cows to mature or something?

Felix
their made to measure stuff is made offshore..in Pakistan i believe
which is why its normally 6..8 weeks
course Christmas would have stuffed that up....

Their stuff is made in Pakistan, along with nearly every other manufacturer. Seeing Christmas isn't a muslim holiday, I'm guessing that it didn't really affect much, bar maybe freight.

I tried some of the Underdag stuff on today. Not good. A few of you have met me, I'm 5'6" on a good day with a tailwind. However, I'm pretty wide and I have legs like a turkey. I needed a XL pair of pants just to get over my thighs, and they ended up about 6" too long. Normally my boots would stop hanging down on the ground, but even they couldn't make the knee pads come up further than my shins

...AND I needed an XL jacket to fit my shoulders into. I looked like a gumby.

Gave up and tried a RJays jacket on in Peter Stevens...I needed a XXL!!! Are these things based on midgets???

WTF?

Actually, the jacket was pretty good except for the fitted cuffs in the sleeves, they were a massive pain in the arse (I don't like even wearing a watch).

Looks like I either need to get into Tiger Angel in West Melbourne and pay the extra $300, or I get my sorry aging arse on the next flight to Karachi.

Cheaper to go Tiger Angel.

I'm a big fan of tiger angel. jacket took around 3-4 weeks.. pants took 11 days, both custom made. They also promise them to you by a certain date. When the zip broke off my jacket after bashing it on a door they first offered me a lend jacket while they fixed it, then just fixed it on the spot (required some sewing) in about 15 minutes.

they are expensive, but i'm always glad i went there.
