Took the Ninja out for a late night, sub zero, 2-up ride around town last night with the BF, Supamodel, and discovered a few Pro’s and Con’s about the 250r as a pillion..
Pro’s
• Pillion seat is high enough up to be on kangaroo watch, but not too high that you’re constantly buffeted by the wind
• It’s comfier than I remember
• Corners nicer with the extra weight
• Goes quite nicely now after the big tune, even with the extra person
• The replacement headlight globe works brilliantly – it now has xray vision!
Con’s
• The new Leo Vince System is a bit too LOUD. Even with the road baffle
• The pillion pegs are too far back – melted my boots on exhaust
• Brakes aren’t as responsive with an extra person on board
• Headstem bearings need replacing (so that’s what that clunk is) it slopped about with the extra person on board
• The pillion handle strap isn’t big enough, even for someone who has tiny hands like me
• Takes ages to come onto power.

Time for cams :D

Time for a bit of an update, wit hthe SV650 now my new daily (full license!) it's time to really start pulling the 250r apart and seeing how much power we can get out of this thing.

It's still on finance for another 6 months or so, so i'm not yet 'allowed' to sell it, nor am i ready to let her go. Plus Supa will be needing her when he starts doing his PhD in 2012, with the Uni having zero parking, so she's going to come in handy.

Brett at MotoGarage has decided he wants to really make this thing fly, and is keen to make it the most powerful 250r in Australi (he wants the world, but i think thats pushing his luck LOL).

Yes, there have been talks of Turboing it, but we'll see how we go!

So she's about to be stripped down to bare bones, head sent of to CA and new cams and i want those carbs working by june 2012. Once she's got the go, i'll give her new fairings, and a new lick of paint, along with new wheels, or at least powdercoating them.

Been a long few days here... Finally the stars align and all the parts we had ordered arrived. So many new OEM parts and a bunch of other stuff, too. All fixed up and pretty now :).
