Well i picked up the bike this morning and what a difference after a new chain and sprocket. Feels much tighter .
I will never be going back to the first place they had not put the air filter back on properly and it was filthy, you think if you take it of and see it is dirty that a clean would not ...

just an update

I ended up getting a second compression test and lo and behold he said the compression is fine!

How the f@*% can one please get completely different readings to another?

Mind you i am happy that the compression is good but how ridiculous.

It was checked in for a major service but when they called to tell me it had half the compression it should and would cost ball park figure of 2k ...

the figures i received from the mechanic were as follows
Motor very tired 75-85% leak down
Ht comp test #1 122 #2 90 #3 95 #4 120

who knows a reputable mechanic who can confirm or call bullshit on these ...

I have always wanted to ride but never pulled my finger out enough to do it. Well 15 months ago i finally did, I rode a VTR250 through my L's and P's then finally got the chance to grab a cheap 96 zx6r, it has a few k's on it (92,000) but for a first 600 it does the trick and i love it!
