Brake Disk Straighteners

Post by esie »

Since having the braided lines on the bike, at low braking speeds I have noticed a strong feeling of the brakes gripping and letting go. Anyway, the guys at City Yamaha had a quick look and said that the brake disk is slightly warped, and that they could send it away for straightening. Rather than paying City Yamaha for the privilage of this, we would prefer to send it off ourselves. So, does anyone know of any brake disk straighteners in Brisbane?
Cheers,
Anne

It might be worth checking the steering head bearing adjustement. I bit of slack can feel like that and is a lot cheaper to fix than warped disks.

We've had Dave Kellet do some work on both our bikes, he does a great job and good value as well. I wasn't aware he did this sort of thing though, maybe a phone call is in order ;)

Mick, I will check that as well, thanks :)
