SV1000

Post by Strika »

While in looking for bits last week, I noticed that the new Spewie SV1000 is being run out for like 10990  Sounds cheap. Sounds too cheap! Are they a nail????

Has anyone had any experience with one of these, or have a mate with one? I am interested in knowing things like
Power delivery
Tank range
Pillion accom
Rider Accom
Handling
Clearance
Brakes
Suspension
Any real +'s
any real -'s

One of the mates has had an SV1000 for about the last 18 months. He loves it (however he has always been a twin fan). He has been wrapped with it and can't fault it in anyway. If you want i can see what else i can find out?

They look great with a gsxr front end on them and theres plenty of room for development if you are that way inclined.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

sv1000's are 115hp, fireyawn's are 105hp.

I wouldn't buy one, they just dont excite. I have not met a happy owner of one yet. They always tend to buy the bike cheap and spend a shitload on mods (mainly cosmetic) and then get rid of it and buy something faster cause they are sick of it. I have seen 3 or so with for sale signs on em lately.

If your talking daily ride, commute etc, there would be no better option.
Although the faired one's look *OK*.

I test rode one when I was shopping for my last bike, and I found them to be a very vague and *tinny* machine, the ZRX left it for dead in terms of power, smoothness and comfort.

I test rode one when I was looking around last year (ended up getting the 10) and I would agree with Hoffy....they just don't excite. Seemed to handle OK, and had a comfy ride position, but even my mates VTR seems like more fun :?

Old TLS donk in an over tamed frame, only prob i've heard is front shockies too soft altough can be healed by changing fork oil or even better apparently GSX-R shocks fit in relatively easy.owners love em. buy akropovics with change :P

other issues i've heard of are the radial suspension on the rear being a $$$$$ to replace with aftermarket kit as only Ohlins or somesuch make fittable shocks & springs.
