They worked for me....
200kph, turn 1 eastern creek, only damage was cracked engine cover.. $140.!
From my experience, in particular at the track, they are worth the $..
Each to there own though.....

My god Fab, How lucky were you?MadFab wrote:i fell off once , as usual i was riding way beyond my ability, and my crash's saved my life!
i was pissed , high on crack , speeding & generally doing bad stuff , otherwise a normal day in my world, and i fell down !
the oggys , at home on my bike , prevented me from certain death by being small black and too big to swallow !
otherwise i would have taken em & certainly died from poisoning .

Then your friends cage was very poorly designed. cages are designed for low speed. In high speed crashed they can cause more damage- ripping engine mount from blocks. But thats another topic that does not affect too many people here.kellz wrote:well a friend has a full crash cage on her bike an d when she lowsided she still ripped the engine casing off.
the crash cage had crash nobs, on the side aswell.
so go figure.
I seen first crashes as they happened with sliders on and the damage after a crash with and without sliders.
Oggies, sliders what ever you call them are primaryly there to save your engine cases and frame from damage. Most can limit damage to fairings but wont stop it.
Some bikes are prone to snapping the mounts that these slides get mounted to ( Honda Fireblades. )
Like anything for ever person telling you they are awesome and saved damage there will be another person saying they caused more.
For the ones saying they caused/cause damage think about this. What could have the damage been like without the siad evil slider?
Like anything we can sit here all night playing what if. What if they dig in and cause the bike to barrel roll down the road, couldn't as the bike slides along on the fairing the tyres touch the surface and cause the same result?
No crash is the same. So of course the results will differ from crash to crash, as will how the bike is damaged during the crash as how the slider affects the outcome.
There are too many variable to say the are good, bad, cause damage or protect. Even the material the slider is made of can affect thigs greatly, so can the mounting hardware/ way they are mounted.
For the record i have them on one of my bikes.
They will save damage in low to moderate speed incident. In a high speed i don't care cause most likely the bike will get written off as a result of the crash.
Get them don't get them.
End of the day its your bike and if you think they are worth it get them. If you believe they will cause more damage, don't
My 2 cents
