What Mitch said
MX boots are big clunky buggers that are designed to stop your feet from getting pulped when you stick your leg out in the breeze. They are also relatively inflexible to stop you from snapping ankles when you hit shit like big tree roots buried in dirt, rocks etc. On a road bike you probably won't be able to change gears in them or at least not very easily. They'll also scrape the crap out of everything on your road bike ie engine cases from the steel toe plates and anything your inside leg touches as they either have leather or something else grippy so you can hold on when standing up. The soles are big and clunky also so you won't be able to move your feet around.
Road boots are more designed to protect your tootsies, ankles and feet from abrasion as you slide down the road with your bike on your leg.

A little long winded but I hope that helps
Cheers

In any case, if you really like the styling of the mx boots, if you shop around you can buy ones that are styled similar but are more road friendly.... usually the enduro style boots....
SuperMotard riders use them, so you will probably find them in a KTM shop or similar.... Hope that helps...

Test them in the shop, go sit on a bike, make sure you can get your foot under the gear lever smoothly.... If not, dont buy them....

Your gear lever is adjustable by the way - for this purpose. Don't be such a big girl about it.hidepenny wrote:i tried the road ones before and found them imipossible to get my left foot under the gear lever, or i must look down and push hardTest them in the shop, go sit on a bike, make sure you can get your foot under the gear lever smoothly.... the mx are way thicker between the sole and top of foot, ull never get it under the lever..if it was better than everyone would be wearing motox boots...racers and all...
another thing with motox boots- the big metal straps can dig in if u come off, tearing ur leg off as opposed to sliding gently down the road...
good luck with that...

Undo the bolt that holds the lever on the spline, slide off the spline, rotate in the desired direction slide back on the spline, tighten up the bolt.hidepenny wrote:really? how?gear lever is adjustable
All your controls should be adjusted for you to suit your riding position/style
