MODS TO ZXR 250

Post by sicarius »

I have recently bought a 2000 Model Kawasaki ZXR250 Limited Edition.
I've just spent a shitload of cash on new tyres, another carbie, major service, oil and filter changes, roadworthy, 12 months rego.etc... :?
I've had nothing but drama with the fuel system on the bike. So I was wondering about the possibilities of fuel injecting one of these things? And fitting a small turbo charger under the fairing on a small boost?
And to answer the question I know you're asking, " WHY?"
 .... Well, because I can... :D I'm just one of those nutters who likes to see how far we can go sometimes...

technically its possible. but be set to spend at least two to three times what the bike is worth to get it set up. Thats assuming no problems with the plumbing or metalwork, you can get throttlebodies to suit your conversion and you get a cheap turbo like from a 900cc charade. I'd suggest if you REALLY want to go down this path, do one thing at a time, get the efi sorted using slightly oversized injectors and THEN look at turboing it.

either way it'd be a f#*&$(#*&ing HUGE project that money aside, i'd not be that game to have a go at due to the sheer effort involved.

Oh and dont forget about accounting for extra frame bracing as well as uprating the forks and shock.

If i was to go down this bizzare path myself, personally i'd go for a supercharger instead

[edit] well FMD, it has already been done to a zxr250[/edit]
