Turning over an unridden bike...

As some of you know Im track riding my bike about once a month. Just wanted to ask...

1. Should I turn her over between days and how often?
2. Do I need a trickle charger to keep the battery from going totally flat? And if so how often should I throw it on?

Any other idea's on upkeep is appreciated!

PS, no need for any volunteer's to throw her around the block either!

A good thrashing at the track once a month should be fine mate. I'd be lucky to ride mine that much anyway

try and keep the tyres from sitting on the concrete to long as the chemicals in it eat away at the rubber.

either use bike stands or some type of mat underneath them

Trickle charge or a cahrge once a week will keep the battery in tip top condition.
as above use stands front & back
Cover with quilted blankie :P

1 months should be ok dude as the others said totally agree,,,,,
fuel can go off and does all sorts of dramas to the bikes performance untill its gone

if you leave the tank emptyish ofter each track day then you solve the problem of a whole tank of stale fuel,,,,, but then encourage rust :roll:
if you leave it full and leave it for to long then it may go stale,,,,
1 month should be fine dude much longer then that though and i would be starting it to lower the fuel and then top up with freah stuff or something.

As far as trickle charges go, would one of those solar ones do the job ok? Been thinking about putting one on the shed roof and putting terminals somewhere accessible on the race bike. Should keep the battery charged without plugging in a trickle charger??

Can you plug a charger onto a battery that is still connected? I never do, but am sick of resetting the clock etc when I do give it a charge up. So if I can shortcut that sh1t, I will. Please advise :D

This turned out to be a more expensive solution, at least in initial set up. in order to have the solar panel on the shed roof it needed to be waterproof, and therefore the cheap car ones would not work. Panel was just short of $100 posted. Then I'd want some form of regulator so the panel doesn't overcharge the battery or drain the battery over night. Reg was about another $45 posted.

I got offered a trickle charger from one of our sponsors for $45 posted, but I'm still looking at the solar option for other reasons. If it ever happens I'll let you know.
