Apologies in advance if this is a question asked a bajillion times.
My ZX6R is due for new rubber soon. I had SPM fit me a 120/65 PP front per the manual on the last change (my first) but i was wondering if I can fit a 120/70 front. I might have had a 70 with the POS shinko's that were on it before (bike was bought with these tyres) but i dont remember the size. If I can, are there any noticable changes to the behaviour of the bike? I ask because I have been offered a good deal on some supercorsa's, and as i mainly commute, these seem ideal for me, only catch is they are a 70 front
thanks!

If you run a 120/70 on the front you're effectively lifting the front end about 6mm - compensate by lifting the rear a similar amount, perhaps a bit more. It's a popular enough mod but it's not something I'd do lightly.

We have a thinker thats correct, but this will also effect your clearance, be it a smidge I think its all personal preferance as to which way to go but either will have the same effect, I would drop the forks & jack up the rear for quicker steering anyway

lol, well i'll ask Jeebz for his opinion then!
no i didnt think there was much difference - i am interested if it speeds up the front end turn in - i'm pretty new to this kind of thing, but i ride my bike most every day and like the feel of it, just interested if it would change a great deal.

You better be doing a few more track days make use of the supercorsas Stuzzy. You'll be fine, just dont go mixing tyre brands and specs. Go same front and rear if you can.
The corsas should feel to have a slightly more aggressive turn in than the PP's.
Indeed mine is 120/65 standard also and currently running with 70, I think people just generally stock the 70 much more and some tires only come in 70. I wanna try a 120/60 next and see what that does for me.

Chill Dave!!! He's not going to make a lethal mistake by going to a 70 on an 05 636. I ran 70's on mine and never bothered dropping the forks any more or lifting the rear to compensate at all. You would have to be pushing the front at A grade racer level to see it push. And it makes it nice and stable on the road at high speed. Plus the 70 profile feels heaps better in terms of feedback and forgiveness. The 60's and 65's pick up every little cat eye and ripple and bash it through your hands. I hate the fekin things. I remember riding a mate's bike once......got off it 300 metres down the road and without having to even look, told him he had a 60 tyre on the front and to gimme my bike back!!! they are horrible....!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

I think he was refering to the rear end mod rather than the tire change. Interesting to hear about the 60. What tire in particular was it?
