Thanks Rob. That's a lot more encouraging than Firey's contributions to this thread  Good luck on Monday!
I'm aiming for 1 kg per week, so I'm happy with this week. I reckon that's a good, sustainable loss. And it means about 20kg by the end of the challenge, if I keep going. But 20kgs sounds impossible to lose, while 1 kg a week sounds doable, even though they equate to the same thing in the end

Just a thought... cos I lost 8 kgs last year... yes I know...
You can't really tell the difference !!! I had been 10kgs heavier for the past
10 years... I did a gym instructor course...
As well as the weigh in try measuring around waist line and that, cos if you
are doing weights you have to know that muscle weighs more than
fat but takes up a third of volume in your body...
So technically you may not be weighing much less but if you are
doing weights... (and trust me it helps)... you will find your overall weight
won't change dramatically... you'll notice it more when you get dressed and your
clothes aren't so tight...and for those who like to do gym work everyday, resistance
training should be done every 3 - 4 days. Your muscles need time to repair...

Doing weights boosts your metabolism... so go for it !!!
Also, if your body is used to doing the same exercise all the time... that's not
helping you either... you need to change it around a little..
If anyone wants an exercise program... happy to help... and yes I am qualified...(as a gym instructor anyway)...

Good Luck Guys !!!

Andy ;)

I haven't weighted in yet - have been aiming for 1kg per week also, and so far managed it. But I have been (and still am crook), so haven't been doing the excercises. I expect to have gained this week

-1.5kg this week.
But, I was on holidays - so extra kudos for me!
But, I was sick as a dog for a day and a half, so it probably doesn't count.
See what I do next week.

Me to. When I see that 89.9 click over on the scales I'll be ecstatic!
