Hey guys,
I'm interested to know if this is a problem with ZX-9R's, here's what happens, when accelorating (cruising) through the gears I get into 3rd gear and accelorate, the bike seems to surge (like a choke on fuel or not enough revs?) revs a little then drops down to 2nd, I have to hold the gear level in the position of 3rd or keep the revs up, which not a good idea in some traffic conditions. The bike runs well other than that.
Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated as I'm not happy with the problem, obviously
Hope that the above made sense too!
Cheers

Sounds like the selector fork has had it..... You may need to get the gear box looked at

Cheers mate, have read and now booked the bike in to Bruces in Mitchell, has a good rep so hopefully cost will be low but unsure at this stage, and don't think it's going to be an easy fix, but it will be fixed thomick_dundee wrote:Stevie, have a read of this http://www.ksrc-au.com/index.php?itemid=91

Re: Ideas of what's wrong with ZX-9R
Have had a look at my bike, that is in a million pieces around Bruces workshop, , not looking good, one clutch plate shattered, needs two or three new gears, selector drum, two selector forks, quoted at the start was $2500, so might be more doubt that it will be less than that
So much for CMC doing a 'Major Service' more like a minor service at the major price. They didn't do half the job that they said they did, not going back there only good for is trying on gear buy off the net from somewhere cheaper
