ZRX Porn-Ohlins, Pazzos and a bit more.....

Post by J-rex »

I Recently upgraded my suspension with Ohlins shocks on the back and Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 cartridges in the front (9.75 springs), carts were pretty straightforward to fit as they're a drop in kit and a cheaper option for those that can't afford Ohlins forks (like Phil!) :( .. No bling factor.....well, if you count a sticker ... ..but they work very well.

I think i've got the damping settings pretty sorted...bike feels really good and what a difference in handling! :D

Also put on some Pazzo levers and changed the stock ZRX badges for decals.....

The kids are looking after the rest, they like 'em too

Yeah, the decals aren't for everyone, some just take off the badge and leave it clean..... just wanted to try something different.
Thats what i love about the rex though, they're all different depending on what style the owner likes.....perfect bike to make your own :D

Hey mate, BEAUTIFULL bike and BEAUTIFULLY DONE by you. I may have missed it but how does it ride, exactly what sort of improvement did the Ohlins make over the standard shocks, are they harsher on bumps or plusher, better bottoming resistance etc? What about the new damper rod kit?

Thanks for your advice,

A.E. ;)

Cheers A.E. :kuda:

Ohlins have made the bike ride and feel much more planted, same with the traxxion forks carts.........bike just seems to absorb everything much better without getting out of shape....
Well worth it for me, bike just handles so much nicer :D

I had done a few track days with the stock suspension and on the faster turns the bike would wallow quite a bit, just felt a little scary for me.
Back end felt harsh for my weight (73Kg) even with adjustments made....front end would dive quite a bit and not recover very well, even with rebound maxed out.

Now both ends feel balanced and come up at the same time, no more wallowing.
Looking forward to a few track days when the weather warms up :)

THANKS for the update J-rex, Ohlins seems like the go with these, even The Woose from MCN has Ohlins on teh back of his REX now. What rate fork and shock springs did you end up with?????

Thanks again.
