Hi guys.
I am feeling inspired. Has anyone in within an hour's ride of Newcastle ever built a motorcycle? I want to try so if you have and can spare a few minutes, I'd love to see/meet you, have a coffee/beer and pick your brains. If you don't do these things you won't do them.
King Nicholas.

Re: Bike building
By build I mean, spend a few years sourcing a bike, stripping it down, rebuilding the engine, putting bits on it to make it function again. I don't want to make a racing bike, I have one of those, so I am thinking naked, cafe racer or rat bike. I want to make an original bike, so it certainly won't look like it did when it left the factory. I really want to talk about what is involved man to man from someone who has done it.
If you can give me some advice, PM me your phone number and a good time to call.

Re: Bike building
I'm in the process of doing just that, albeit just getting started. Last couple of bikes have been race/ track, and this one will be road only. Happy to share my experiences if it's of interest - I'm at Brooklyn, halfway between Sydney and the Central Coast.
Cheers,
Brian

Do not walk behind me, for I may not be leading
Do not walk in front of me, for I may not be following
Do not walk alongside me, for the path may be narrow
Just piss off and leave me alone

Have a look on the Aussie street fighter forum. Heaps of info on there.
Good luck with your project. As the saying goes: "Built, not bought.
