adjusting chain

Post by PoP_PiN »

Hey everyone,

I want to adjust my chain as it's a bit slack..but I have no clue of how to take of the pin lock thingy off

My friend said maybe it's a disposable one? and you're meant to unbend it and break it everytime...but that sounds silly to me

HELP!

Yep it's disposable although you don't have to break it to get it out, just push the outside leg down so it's inline with the lower one and pull the pin out (upwards).

You can re-use but it's safer not to as talking them out will weaken them slightly and they cost peanuts from a car store in bulk.
Motorcycle's are inherently unstable...

A better option is to get the racing clips like i have on my rear wheel. They can be gotten from any auto parts store like repco, esp if they have a BLING section :-)

If it hurts, you aren't doing it right.

Yeah the 'R' clips are a good thing.

Oh and you know that the chain is meant to be a bit 'slack' right?
