They must have gotten a lot slower over the years as the guy that won the 2003 F.E. Eastern Creek round was Mick Neason and his best lap was 1:47 at that round..
I have seen those t-rex Honda's get around there in the mid 40's though..

They have gotten slower, you are dead right. Most of the *quick* runners that were racing when I was there have dropped out of the FE Unlimited class, there are only 1/2 dozen at most left, who are capable of laps in the mid-high 40's at EC now....... :( its a bit sad really. This is one of the reasons my mad mate Anton wants me back racing with him - he is one of the quickest guys in FE U/L now, and he is doing high 40's :?

a few years ago there was a bloke called Greg Avery belting around EC on a 1980 GSX1100, he could also do low 1'40's.....

Did you see that the fastest ambo in Oz won the FE Unlimited class at the recent Historic Road Racing Champs at Symmons Plains, on a .......wait for it.........1978 Kawasaki Z1R !!!!!!! Go Guesty !!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure he's not as old as he looks, but then I have been known to be wrong about these things
