Didn't Gibernau get somone (Tamada?) suspended for a race a few years back for "passing too close" or something like that ?
I wonder how may races ban you get for carnage like that ? he did start it after all.

It was an accident, this is racing, it happens.
I dislike Sete as much as the next person, but I feel too many people are using this incident to sling even more shit at him than he deserves, it was a racing accident.
I didnt hear anyone grilling Rossi's first turn stunt at LeMans where he ran Gibernau, Depuniet and Edwards (maybe Vermuelen also?) off the track.

Your probably right, but then Rossi, to my knowledge, has never made official complaint about anyone else. I think Hopkins was also given a suspension after a first corner incident at Motegi a few years ago, I recall that it happend but not the details.
You're right, I'm no fan of Gibernau, but having said that, I'd rather not see him or anyone else suspended, unless it was truly deliberate, rather than just careless, for two reasons, firstly, I like to see what method of not winning he will come up with each race

but also, having someone you don't like win, just increases the interest/odds/desire to see the guys you support win.
Cheers
Matt

Racing at those speeds things go wrong and usualy it's not pretty(for those involved) but at the end of the day, as long as it is not a deliberate act. If it was then thats not racing it is however plain out dirty! and that SUCKS

I watched the incident numerous times from numerous angles. The overhead shots gave the most graphic detail of what happened. Not that I am an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but from where I sat Sete has some explaining to do. They were nowhere near the turn in point for the corner when Sete moved over and into Loris where Sete's front brake lever got jammed into loris bike and immediately flipped him and his bike over. The resulting carnage as Loris faught to regain control and ultimately the ten pin bowling effect was demonstrated with Marco, John, and a few others tipping it over.
The overhead footage showed clearly Sete moving over and literally bashing into Loris' bike with his brake lever making contact on the bike just behind Loris' Leg.

Sete would have had to have his head craned at almost 90 degrees to the left in order to not see Loris' bike.
