IF they could get that one rule cleared.. The lane splitting debate certainly would have another nail in it's coffin, considering you must pass on the RIGHT and Bicycle lanes are on the Left.... In turn negating the passing on the right law, when a bicycle lane is present...

never ceases to amaze me how so many seemingly intelligent people can come up with such utter rubbish about a group of road users that they dont understand any of you ever consider that you sound the same way that cagers do when talking about motorcyclists?
any of you ever consider that you sound the same way that cagers do when talking about motorcyclists?
news flash

roads are NOT payed for by registration, nor by petrol!!!! in fact if you have a squiz at your last rego papers, you'll probably notice that your registration fee is sweet FA, most of it is insurance
uh oh, roads are payed for by the general tax pool? oh no! there goes that gripe
and while we're having a go at cyclists, how about we think of the benefits. environment, congestion, FITNESS.... the gov probably saves more than it spends by encouraging cycling, but by all means, call us road leeches
oh yeah, and cyclists NEVER obey road rules either yeah? thats right, cos motorcyclists are the nuns of the road arent they
i break more road rules on my motorbike than on my pushy, and by a long shot. also remember that when a cyclist DOES break a road rule, at worst they'll leave a dent and a blood stain on your car

so yeah, i couldn't give a rats about this latest push by the MRAA. either way i dont think it'll really effect me, i wont give way to motorbikes on my pushy in my lane and i wont use the pushy lane on my motorbike (purely and simply because people in left lanes dont look before moving on over. i dont mind stacking the pushy, its a part of life, but dropping the motorbike is a different story altogether).
but theres no need to get all uppy on pushy riders and the 'easy ride' they get. just like you'd say to a cager about yourself "jump in our shoes for a while and THEN see what you think"
