You'd have to be a bloody hero to outrun them on the BMWs anyway. It's not like they're slow riders.

Whilst this is true i'm sort of quietly confident that SHOULD it so happen that he finds himself outclassed as a rider rather than going hard and taking the chance on binning it he'll probably jump on the radio and call for backup

Just had a phone call from a mate, the unmarked GSXR's are on the spurs now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He and his partner went for a lap of the spurs last saturday. He rides a BMWk1200 and she rides a Monster S4R!!!! She rides SLOWLY, and so does he. They are not ridge racers, just tourers. Going up lake mountain from Marysville, they were both pulled over. As was EVERY single bike which went up. They pulled over every single one. And apparently, the drill was not pleasant from the officer issueing the "Commands".
It apparently went something like this........ Officer waves down rider, rider pulls over. Officer states in a rather rude, threatening and abrupt manner, "Licence"! This was how he approached every single rider. They had a radar as well to check the speed of each bike too.
His partner found the whole experience quite intimidating. She is a 50 year old woman, who is very softly spoken and also quiet a warm and nurturing person, so I guess she could be a little sensitive, but my mate reckons she was shaking like a leaf and the cop had her in tears.

Dunno about anyone else, but if a member of our finest ever does that to my darling bride, i'll be dragging them through as many complaint mechanisms as I can, and attempt to make their lives as miserable as possible!.

Where they get off I dunno? I am sure that's not how they train them in the academy?

				From mcnews.com.au:
Sep 13 - News - Biker Beware! Sneaky tactics are afoot in Victoria! We believe a fleet of GSX-R1000 Suzuki motorcycles are being used to bait motorcyclists into speeding and then handing out the appropriate tickets. You have been warned....

I know it's upto the rider to speed. But anything that attempts to lure a citizen to break the law should be deemed entrapment.
for example ride up there arse to make them feel like they have to go faster to get you off their arse... Technically you could feel threatened and have to use speed to get yourself out of a threatening situation and get booked.
A motorcylist has altready been able to use speed in a threatening situation and had his case dropped. If this is the sort of crap going on, then I hope people have a legel avenue to get justice.
pricks...

A mate from Perth flew in late last night. He is a journo, and was talking to a reliable source here in Vic, after I posted about the unmarked gixxers. Not only do they have 11 of them located out of Moorabbin, but apparently, they are allegedly under instructions to "Make hay while the sun shines" During the GP period. They have been issued directives to clamp down on M/C riders. As this is pure discrimination, they are not issued these intructions in writting, but rather verbally.
You have been warned. If you're on a bike in Vic at the moment, expect to be pulled over regardless of how you ride. They are pulling over any riders they can for random lic/rego/drug/alcohol tests.
The baiting that is apparently occuring, I have had no experience nor third hand information on, but can only assume it's another of their police state tactics. They don't appear to be even attempting to disguise the blatant discrimination they curently have towards motorcycle riders.

Problem is how many of us have the $$ to fight these kind of tickets?
Most people just pay up and be done with it, i think this is what they rely on to a certain extent.
We have the odd 'officer' here as members, plus to just have the attitude as expressed by the police in the above case is just not necessary or 'professional'.
If you speak to someone like crap, why should you be spoken to any different, regardless of your job or position???
What a great use of police resources, another brilliant way to engender the folks in blue to the general public.
I'll bet if they used the same tactics on car drivers it would not last long as there would end up being an accident.
